Pawpaw Bread

This recipe was originally published by Derek Morris in Our State Magazine.  It's a great way to enjoy Pawpaws, but if you don't have any on hand, you could easily substitute in Bananas.

Ingredients: 

1 Cup Butter, melted
2 Cups Sugar
Eggs
2 Cups PawPaw pulp
1 Tablespoon Lime (or Lemon) Juice
4 Cups Flour, sifted
2 teaspoons Baking Powder
3 Cups Add-Ins such as Raisins, Walnuts, or Chocolate Chips
Dash Salt, optional

Directions: 

Preheat oven to 375º

Grease 2 9-x-4-inch loaf pans.

Cream together ButterSugar, and Eggs.

Beat in PawPaw Pulp and Lime Juice.

Sift together Baking Powder, Salt, and Flour, then stir into batter.

Stir in Add-Ins and evenly divide batter in the two baking pans.

Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
